Plan your trip to Barcelona
How to arrive in Barcelona?
– This is the most suitable option. Barcelona is an international transportation hub and has got different airports being the main one “El Prat-Barcelona” airport.
– Cheap flights can be found, either short and long distance ones
– Once you are at the airport, you’ll need to get to the city center. Check out an airport transfer from Barcelona airport for just 1€.
-The port of Barcelona is the arriving point for cruise users
-Located in the city center, arriving at the port is a good idea if you’re coming from somewhere in the Mediterranean.
-The city is well communicated with the main capitals Madrid and Paris.
-To and from Madrid, AVE high-speed is the ideal option (even better than the plane)
-Coming by bus is relatively easy from a lot of European cities (especially from the rest of Spain and from France)
-Barcelona is well connected with roads to Madrid, Valencia and in around 2 hours you can get to France
This depends on your country of origin. Take some time to check this because VISA is always the most important part of a trip. You don’t want to get stuck at the airport being not permitted to enter Spain, don’t you?
Where to stay in Barcelona
Accommodation is the next step. Maybe, the toughest one. If you’re coming from April to September, it’s expensive. If you’re coming during an international event (like Moto GP Grand Prix, F1 Grand Prix or Mobile World Congress) it’s expensive. Want to stay at Ramblas or Passeig de Gràcia? expensive again.
How to get cheap accommodation?
-Try to avoid the high season periods (April-September + international events)
–Avoid the most expensive streets (like Ramblas, the Gothic quarter or Diagonal)
–Look, find, search, compare… you never know when you might find a good hotel for a good price! Navigate always in private mode in your browser.
-Look for an Airbnb option. If you don’t mind sharing a flat with his owner you’ll save a lot of money this way.
-Why not staying in the neighbor cities? L’Hospitalet, Santa Coloma or Sant Adrià are some metro stops away from the city and the price really makes a difference…
Don’t you ever think about buying any transportation card in advance! Once there, just go to a metro station and buy a T10. This will give you access to 10 trips in public transportation (metro, bus, and tram) for just €10.
